The Role

As an Underwriting Operations Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting the underwriting function by ensuring policies are processed accurately, operational workflows run efficiently, and brokers receive outstanding service.

Working closely with Underwriters, Insurance Brokers, and the wider Operations team, you'll help maintain high service standards while supporting business growth within a fast-paced MGA environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support underwriting teams by delivering a high-quality operational service.
• Accurately input risk, policy, and insurance documentation into company systems within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Act as a senior point of contact for operational queries, providing guidance and support to colleagues.
• Complete peer reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
• Liaise with insurance brokers to obtain client information, resolve queries, and meet agreed service standards.
• Ensure month-end operational processes are completed accurately and on time.
• Attend team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with onboarding and training new team members, including creating and updating training guides.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and support transformation projects.
• Investigate and resolve operational issues while maintaining data integrity.
• Support administration for off-scheme insurance policies.
• Assist with bordereaux processing, claims administration, and wider insurance operations when required.
• Complete additional operational and administrative duties as directed by the Operations Team Leader.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge within a collaborative team.
• The ability to work independently while contributing to team success.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
