Underwriter - Political Risk & Credit: About the role
Deputy Class Underwriter required to participate in all aspects of underwriting and management of the Political Risk and Credit portfolio as well providing support to the team in preparation and analysis of financial models, management information reports and data analysis.
Underwriter - Political Risk & Credit: Key duties
Negotiation and indication of renewals and new business in accordance with underwriting authority and where appropriate, individual budgeted goals within the Political Risk and Credit portfolio.
Agreement of endorsements and policy amendments in accordance with underwriting authority.
Build on existing and develop new client and broker relationships
Actively participate in meetings, online and in person, with clients, brokers and other internal and external stakeholders
Specific account analysis, research and presentation of findings on individual risks for sign off by Authorised Underwriters as necessary
Complete financial models
Liaison with Claims Department and taking part in potential loss and recovery reporting and management
Assisting with compilation of annual Reinsurance Report
Preparation and presentation of development topics to team, including sectoral, country and claims reviews
Underwriter - Political Risk & Credit: Key requirements
Experience as an underwriter or broker with the credit and political risks sector
Experience of negotiating with brokers and liaising with clients
Good level of understanding of financial analysis for corporate risks
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Lloyd’s Introductory Test - will be required to complete ACII
