Subsidence Engineer – About the role

My client are currently seeking a professional Subsidence Engineer to join their team on a full-time permanent basis, based from home.

Subsidence Engineer – Key duties

Provide professional subsidence service in connection with domestic and commercial buildings insurance claims.

Proactively manage subsidence claims through to completion, regularly update clients, policyholders and their agents

Assist the field team in completing reports and answering calls where necessary

Coordinate referral of work to the field team throughout the day, ensuring correct priorities are communicated and completed and that targets are met on a daily basis

Maintain claims on the internal system to the highest possible standard

Manage identified and reported problems within set timescales to ensure adherence to group processes

Provide support to the Surveying & Subsidence office team in periods of extreme volume

Subsidence Engineer – Key requirements

Hold an appropriate professional building qualification such as MICE, MRICS, MCIOB, MIStrucE, MCABE or progressing towards this, while candidates who are QBE are welcome to apply also.

Proven knowledge and understanding of Subsidence in relation to insurance claims with a detailed knowledge of structural defects affecting buildings

Knowledge or experience of managing technical building claims and the understanding of claims handling

Ability to diagnose the cause of damage without visiting, based on information collected by others

Detailed knowledge of subsidence engineering / surveying

Experience of the insurance industry and understanding of insurance liability
