Motor Claims Handler – About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Motor Claims Handler to join their team on a fully remote working basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Motor Claims Handler, Motor Claims Adjuster or Motor Insurance Claims Professional with a strong understanding of motor insurance claims, Credit Hire, Salvage, Indemnity and Third-Party Claims.

You will be responsible for proactively managing motor insurance claims from notification through to settlement, working on behalf of Motor Underwriters who insure a diverse portfolio of motor risks across the UK.

The successful Motor Claims Handler will deliver professional claims management, provide clear advice to policyholders, control claims costs and ensure an excellent customer experience throughout the entire motor claims lifecycle.

Motor Claims Handler – Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a Remote Motor Claims Handler, your responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively manage motor insurance claims from first notification of loss through to final settlement.
  • Handle fire, theft, accidental damage and other motor claims efficiently and professionally.
  • Manage the complete motor claims journey on behalf of Motor Underwriters.
  • Provide comprehensive motor claims advice and guidance to policyholders.
  • Assess claims and advise customers on the appropriate course of action to achieve a fair and efficient settlement.
  • Review policy coverage, terms and conditions and indemnity when validating claims.
  • Manage and control motor claims costs, achieving economical and cost-effective settlements.
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer service and customer experience throughout the claims lifecycle.
  • Liaise with insurers, Motor Underwriters, policyholders, leaseholders, engineers, brokers and solicitors.
  • Provide regular and accurate claims updates to customers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and adjust Third-Party motor claims.
  • Obtain and review relevant claims documentation, photographs, videos, media, estimates and supporting evidence.
  • Investigate and assess claims to establish liability, coverage and appropriate settlement.
  • Manage Third-Party claims, Credit Hire and Salvage matters.
  • Ensure claims are handled efficiently, accurately and in accordance with relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Apply Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles throughout the claims handling process.
  • Maintain accurate claims records and documentation.
  • Work to the highest professional standards while supporting company values, procedures and policies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve motor claims processes, customer service and operational efficiency.

Motor Claims Handler – Essential Skills and Experience

The ideal Motor Claims Handler will have:

  • Previous experience working within motor insurance claims handling.
  • Strong working knowledge of the motor claims lifecycle.
  • Experience handling fire, theft, accidental damage and motor damage claims.
  • Knowledge of Credit Hire claims.
  • Understanding of Salvage and vehicle disposal processes.
  • Knowledge of Indemnity and policy coverage.
  • Experience dealing with Third-Party motor claims and liability.
