Casualty Field Adjuster – North East – About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Casualty Field Adjuster / Casualty Claims Adjuster to join our client's team, covering the North East of England.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Casualty Adjuster, Loss Adjuster, Claims Investigator or Insurance Claims Professional looking for a fresh challenge within the loss adjusting and insurance claims sector.

The successful candidate will be ambitious, commercially aware and capable of developing their technical knowledge and claims-handling expertise. This is a home-based, field-based role, with responsibility for managing a caseload of casualty claims across the North East of England, so regular travel throughout the region is an essential part of the position.

Casualty Field Adjuster – Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a Casualty Field Adjuster, your responsibilities will include:

• Liaising professionally with insurers, policyholders, brokers and other relevant parties throughout the claims process.
• Investigating allocated casualty insurance claims both in the field and from the desk.
• Conducting detailed field-based claims investigations and gathering all relevant evidence.
• Compiling appropriate evidence, statements, documentation and supporting information required to progress each claim.
• Preparing comprehensive preliminary reports detailing the evidence obtained and providing professional commentary on:
  • Policy indemnity
  • Legal liability
  • Quantum
  • Claims tactics
  • Appropriate claims strategy
• Assessing the appropriate action required to achieve an effective and timely resolution of each case.
• Defending or negotiating insurance claim settlements, where appropriate and within agreed authority limits.
• Corresponding with insurers, policyholders, brokers, solicitors and other interested parties to proactively progress claims towards conclusion.
• Investigating and handling all casualty claims in accordance with client requirements, documented procedures and company standards.
• Maintaining accurate and appropriate claims reserves, with regular reviews to ensure reserves remain appropriate.
• Keeping up to date with technical, legal and regulatory developments relevant to casualty claims and loss adjusting.
• Participating in relevant company training and professional development programmes.
• Carrying out any other reasonable duties or instructions provided by your line manager in accordance with business requirements.

Casualty Field Adjuster – Essential Requirements

Applicants should have:

• Strong Employers Liability (EL) claims experience.
• Strong Public Liability (PL) claims experience.
• Significant Casualty Claims experience.
• Proven experience working as a field-based Claims Adjuster, Casualty Adjuster, Loss Adjuster or Claims Investigator.
• Strong experience of investigating insurance claims in the field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to assess liability, indemnity, quantum and claims strategy.
• The ability to manage a caseload independently and work effectively from a home-based environment.
• A professional and commercially focused approach to claims resolution and settlement negotiation.
• The ability and willingness to travel throughout the North East of England.

Location – North East England

This is a home-based Casualty Field Adjuster position covering the North East of England.

The successful candidate will need to be comfortable undertaking regular field-based travel across the region as required to investigate and manage casualty insurance claims.
