Job Title: Delegated Underwriting Assistant 

Reports to: Delegated Underwriting Authority Manager 

Location: London / Home


Main purpose of job:

Assist the Delegated Underwriting team in the review and oversight of delegated authority agreements and provide managed syndicates with delegated authority related support and guidance. 

Key Tasks:

Assist in the Coverholder onboarding and contract review process for DUA business written by syndicates and managed MGAs.

Assist the audit process, including coordination and review of Coverholder audit reports

Maintenance of records in the OneView DUA system

Responsible for the production of reports and MI management information (MI) for internal meetings and regular syndicate meetings.

Administration of Atlas tasks, entry of new binders on the Binding Authority Registration system (BAR), Delegated Audit manager (DAM) audit scoping, monitoring, and providing support to syndicates on Delegated Data Manager (DDM).

Assist the DUA manager in the delivery of delegated authority oversight strategy in line with Lloyd’s Minimum Standards 

Key personal skills required:

Communication: good interpersonal and written skills that enable the individual to build trust with senior members of managed syndicates, coverholders and brokers

Effective organisational skills and a proactive outlook in setting and prioritising work and meeting deadlines

Flexibility: A sense of perspective and commercial awareness

Able to work unsupervised, the role assumes a degree of autonomy

Good level of numeracy and attention to detail

Ability to work as an effective team member or as an individual, as circumstances dictate. 

Key technical / education skills required:

Current and relevant experience in a delegated underwriting role.

Educated to A level standard or equivalent, GCSEs including Maths and English, Grade C or above

Good working knowledge of MS Office (or similar) programs, particularly Word and Excel

A good understanding of Lloyd’s requirements for delegated underwriting arrangements, essential

Familiar with the structure and content of binding authority, Lineslip and consortium agreements

Prior use of Lloyd’s systems including Atlas, BAR, DAM, DDM, Crystal and Risk Locator
