Our client are a wholesale underwriting agency that specialises in the e-trade & traditional underwriting of SME commercial package, commercial / contractors combined and personal line insurances, distributed via it’s agency network of UK retail insurance brokers. The ideal candidate must have excellent trading underwriting skills ideally from an MGA background with a strong understanding around P&C particularly in the Commercial / Contractors Combined, XoL & CAR

Job Overview:

To provide efficient, timely and professional support to brokers for new business, renewal, mid-term adjustment and general enquiries.

To achieve income and profit objectives by analysing insurance proposals, determine policy terms and calculate premiums in line with authority levels.

Demonstrating your contribution to loss ratio control by effectively adhering to Company's underwriting controls

Act as a central point of referral and share your expertise to assist in the development of colleagues.

To positively reinforce and display group values and to actively drive the business forward in achieving its objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

Underwriting of new business & renewal risks under a variety of delegated binding authorities.

Experience in E Trade models and traditional manual underwriting from guides.

Conducting MTA’s, Cancellations, and general referral queries

Trading underwriting skills with a pragmatic approach.

Underwriting complex or specialist cases in the commercial combined / contractors combined product.

Must understand underwriting within parameters of binders.

Meeting and where possible, exceeding brokers service levels and expectations.

Support wider 'Team Manager’ team with a technical knowledge and provide constructive input.

Support Account Managers

Understands the impact of claims and risk management on the performance of a case and demonstrates an ability to underwrite taking these factors into account.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key trading partners to maximize influence.

Support the development and operation of sales campaigns to drive the acquisition of profitable business.

Act as a point of technical referral to provide support and assistance to Underwriting Teams & Account Managers.

Contribute to new products & schemes with the technical skill set to launch to market.

Liaise directly with insurers on technical referrals.
