Class Underwriter - US Casualty / Treaty: About the role

My client has a vacancy for Class Underwriter to support the Senior Class Underwriter in writing a profitable US Casualty Treaty book.

Class Underwriter - US Casualty / Treaty: Key duties:

Support the production of business

Take responsibility for part of the US Casualty Treaty class of business

Support the production of a business plan for review and agreement by the Divisional Head

Input into the monthly and quarterly forecasting process for the US Casualty Treaty class

Seek out new business opportunities through liaison with brokers and clients

Underwrite in accordance with the business plan

Peer review of risks as allocated under the peer review selection criteria and responsibility matrix as set out in the underwriting manual

Assist in the continuous assessment of rating models

Travel to visit existing and potential clients

Monitoring of statistics and claims and report accordingly

Ensure compliance with and maintenance of syndicate systems

Compliance with Lloyd’s regulations and byelaws

Key role in Outwards Reinsurance purchasing on behalf of the team

Assistance in training and development of underwriting assistants and junior members of the team

Manage the relationships with Customers, Agents and Service Providers

Class Underwriter - US Casualty / Treaty: Key requirements

Ideally ACII with relevant class experience
