London/Home Based

New Business Account Handler – SME Commercial 

Summary Purpose of Role:

As a New Business Account Handler, you must be able to use your knowledge of commercial insurance products and services to ensure business conversion and meet targets. You will need to follow up on quotes that have been submitted by our brokers, negotiate a rate and answer their queries to secure the business. This position will require working closely with the Corporate Account Manager to ensure accurate and effective conversion of enquiries. 

Experience:

  • 2 years + commercial insurance experience
  • Good understanding of UK SME business (Property owners/ Tradesman / Combined preferably)
  • CII qualification is preferable or working toward
  • Experience working for a commercial brokerage
  • Sales background an advantage, or possess the confidence to do so
  • Comfortable on the phone
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills 

Accountabilities:

• Outbound all quotes that have been submitted by brokers, discuss the terms and secure the sale

• Contribute to the development and building of relationships with brokers by providing outstanding customer service

• Maintain and develop market awareness of products and covers available

• Maintain good working relationships with all internal departments

• Maintain an open communication ethos with colleagues and managers

• Demonstrate “model behaviors”

• Comply with all legal, regulatory and contractual requirements to ensure obligations are met

• Contribute to wider business activities
