Account Executive – Commercial Insurance – Key Responsibilities

As a Commercial Insurance Account Executive, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing an existing portfolio of commercial insurance clients across multiple industry sectors.
• Developing strong client relationships to maximise retention and long-term business growth.
• Providing expert advice across a range of commercial insurance products, including Property, Liability, Motor Fleet, Commercial Combined, Professional Indemnity and Directors & Officers insurance.
• Identifying opportunities for cross-selling, upselling, and expanding existing client accounts.
• Driving new business development through networking, referrals, prospecting and relationship building.
• Building and maintaining a healthy pipeline of commercial insurance opportunities.
• Leading annual insurance renewal negotiations to achieve excellent client retention rates.
• Working closely with Insurance Brokers and Broking Operations to ensure seamless policy administration and servicing.
• Ensuring all documentation complies with FCA regulations and internal compliance procedures.
• Maintaining accurate records using Acturis and other insurance broking systems.
• Delivering exceptional customer service throughout the full insurance lifecycle.
• Supporting the continued growth of the commercial insurance division.

Account Executive – Commercial Insurance – Skills & Experience

The successful Commercial Insurance Account Executive will have:

• Proven experience as a Commercial Insurance Account Executive, Commercial Account Handler, Insurance Broker, Development Executive, or Client Executive.
• Strong knowledge of the commercial insurance market.
• Experience managing commercial insurance renewals and client portfolios.
• Demonstrable success in business development and winning new commercial insurance clients.
• Experience working within an insurance brokerage environment.
• Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and risk management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Experience using Acturis or other insurance broking platforms.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• A proactive, commercially focused approach to sales and client service.

Desirable Experience

Applications are welcomed from candidates with:

• Cert CII or Dip CII, or those currently studying towards professional insurance qualifications.
• Experience handling SME, Mid-Market or Corporate Commercial Insurance clients.
• Knowledge of FCA regulations and insurance compliance.
• Experience developing long-term commercial client relationships.
• Strong insurance market knowledge across multiple commercial sectors.
